A story that stretches beyond Japan. 

Shak, originally from Singapore, was studying and living on the Gold Coast in Australia where he met Saki, who had come to Australia on what was meant to be a six-month work contract. What started as a short chapter quickly became something much bigger. Saki made the bold decision to leave her job and stay, choosing not to pursue long distance but instead build a life together. Seven and a half years later in 2023, we were married.

Travel and adventure have always been a big part of who we are. Shak gravitates towards the outdoors and motorcycles while Saki finds joy in nature walks and learning about health and well-being. With family and friends spread across multiple countries, annual travel becomes a natural rhythm of our lives.

In 2025, we decided to build a hybrid life between Australia and Japan and Kuro House Myoko became the beginning of that vision.
